Spring has really sprung, and so have the thermals! Some fabulous punchy lift pushing through on Mercury. I am still amazed by the sheer greenness of our British springtime. Its like a green I’ve never seen anywhere else in the world, so to be flying above this fizzing landscape is a privilege.
3 and a half hours of the scratchiest, yet mostly thermic fun I’ve had this season! Jumped in the car with Andy and headed down to the White Horse for about 11:30 am and the wind was blowing SSE. During the afternoon conditions came on for a wonderful afternoon.
After spending a refreshing and eventually tiring hike up in the morning, a few pilots got away into the clouds and off onto the horizon first thing at about 12ish on the South take off, but most scratched around on the north west take-off. Bring on the next round!
